When Nedra was pregnant with her first child, she was trying to decide when she was going to tell her husband. One day she and Bert went and saw someone who just had a baby. She announced to him that she was pregnant by saying "Would you like to hold a baby of your own?" He stopped the car and just squeezed her. When Ray was born, she was scared to hold him because he was so small. It was not long before he was held all the time.
